The public enrollment window opens the first business day of January and closes the last business day of March for the following school year.

If a grade is oversubscribed, a lottery is held within 10 business days after the deadline. Initial offers go out within 5 business days after the lottery, and families have 10 calendar days to accept or a shorter stated deadline if it's close to the start of school).

We accept applications year-round and fill open seats from the waitlist as capacity allows.

When timely applications exceed available seats in a grade, LeadershipAZ uses an equitable random selection process. Returning-student reenrollment is counted first, then required preferences are applied (returning students and siblings of enrolled students), then remaining seats are filled by random draw.

The lottery may be observed in person or virtually, and all results are documented and retained.

Applicants not offered a seat are placed on a waitlist in the order set by the lottery, maintained separately by grade and school year.

Seats are offered in waitlist order as vacancies occur. A waitlist stays active until the end of the school year it was created for, unless a published cutoff date is used.

Arizona residency documentation: proof of age and identity (a certified birth certificate OR other reliable proof permitted by law - a birth certificate is not the only option); immunization records or a valid exemption; and an ADE Official Notice of Pupil Withdrawal if the student previously attended an Arizona school.

LeadershipAZ will not deny or discourage enrollment based on disability, national origin, or English proficiency, and will not require an IEP, 504 plan, or disclosure of disability status to enroll.

Students experiencing homelessness (including unaccompanied youth) receive immediate enrollment under McKinney-Vento, and students in foster care or DCS custody are enrolled without unnecessary barriers.
